I don't understand this backlash surrounding EDM. Since when did EDM (Electronic Dance Music) become a sub-genre? To me, it is the whole genre of dance music. That includes trance, dance, house, techno, hard style, dub step, minimal, ambient and all the other derivatives. All of it is EDM. Shouldn't we be past pigeon holing music into genres? If it doesn't sound good to you the person listening to it isn't beneath you. He or she just likes something different. It boggles the mind that EDM is now a sub-genre and people who listen to it are being put down. If you find a nice track turn it up, share it, dance to it. Genres are not important. Love of music and the community around music is what matters. For me rave / dance culture is about PLUR, peace love unity and respect. Let us not loose sight of this. Just my 2 cents.
